As Executive Director for Global Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion at Time Warner Inc. Yrthya works with divisional and company leadership to create and implement strategies that will further foster a culture of inclusion at Time Warner, Inc. and cement the company’s leadership in corporate social responsibility practices. In partnership with senior management, she ensures that our workforce and workplace goals are in close alignment with our diversity goals.
Prior to joining Time Warner Inc., she was Senior Director, Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion at Thomson Reuters, where she was tasked with global strategy, policy, governance and new initiatives for the global technology and information leader.
Yrthya served as Chief Diversity Officer for the State of New York. As the first CDO for the State of NY, she reformed and strengthened the State’s programs and efforts encouraging the growth of Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) eventually establishing programs and practices that led to a doubling of state contracts for M/WBEs.
Yrthya began her career as a researcher and policy advisor. She then took her experiences to Robin Hood where she supported the work of this unique venture philanthropy, with an emphasis on results and analytics, by leading efforts to fund and develop poverty programs for youth and working families.
Yrthya is a tri-sector professional with a great dedication to her community. Her contributions have earned her a number of recognitions including: 2011 Capitol 40 under 40 Rising Stars in Politics; a proclamation from the Borough President of Manhattan; El Diario/La Prensa’s Latinas Destacadas 2011 Award; a fellowship award by the Robert Bosch Foundation in 2004; a New York City Council Community Involvement Award; and, U.S. Embassy of Spain Young Hispanic Leader in 2001. She also served as a member of the Governor’s Taskforce for Minority/Women Business Enterprises and a member of the New York State Procurement Council.
In 2015, the Mayor of NYC appointed her to the NYC Commission on Gender Equity.
