Deborah Hazell
CEO
HSBC Global Asset Management USA

Ms. Hazell is Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Global Asset Management (USA) Inc, and also CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management, Americas. Ms. Hazell is responsible for the day-to-day management of the US Asset Management business and oversees asset management operations in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, including developing and implementing strategic plans to increase the scale and presence of the business.

Ms. Hazell joined HSBC in June 2011 and has over 30 years of experience in fixed income asset management. Prior to joining HSBC, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (FFTW), a fixed income, institutional asset management firm. Ms. Hazell joined FFTW’s New York office in October 1999 and prior to her appointment as CEO in 2008, she headed the firm’s Client Service, Business Development and Marketing Group. She originally joined FFTW to manage and grow the firm's central bank and official institutions business.

Ms. Hazell previously worked for UBS Brinson, New York, where she spent nine years as a portfolio manager, responsible for managing the global fixed income portfolios. Prior to moving to New York, she managed global fixed income portfolios at Chase Investors International in London, which subsequently became a part of UBS Asset Management. Ms. Hazell began her financial career in the investment management department of Saudi International Bank, where she also managed US and global fixed income portfolios.

Ms. Hazell has a BA (Hons) in Economics from New York University, MA (Hons) in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and has Series 3, 7, 24, 30 and 63 registrations.
